Two spectacular teams face off in Tenerife, the most beautiful island in the world.

Abama Resort, located in the south of Tenerife, will be the venue for the second edition of the Tenerife Golf Cup, an innovative tournament that returns to the paradise of Tenerife and will see sixteen teams of two players compete in a Ryder Cup format. This new tournament, with teams made up of actors, former footballers, former basketball players, journalists, bullfighters and other celebrities from mainland Spain, who will compete for victory against a combined team from Tenerife and the Canary Islands, not only seeks to crown the champions on the prestigious Abama Golf course – one of the best in our country, which has just undergone a spectacular renovation of its 18 greens – but also to leave a mark on the island. Beyond the two days of sporting competition, this major event stands as a catalyst to boost golf tourism on the island and highlight the rich local culture of Tenerife. The event also seeks to weave a network of experiences that fuse sport, hospitality and the unique identity of this magnificent island, a world leader in high-quality tourism.

For the second consecutive year, the exclusive Las Terrazas de Abama Suites 5* hotel will be the venue for the various events surrounding this second edition of the Tenerife Golf Cup. After the conclusion of the first day, which will take place on Tuesday 29 April, there will be a Gala Dinner with a stellar performance that will combine music and cinema in a unique setting.

A spectacular program

The event will kick off on Monday, April 28, with the presentation of this major event to the media at Los Palos, a beautiful par-3 course located in the south of the island. The opening ceremony will be the prelude to a day that will begin to rev up the engines in an idyllic location where the good atmosphere, the sporting competition, and the desire to discover almost every corner of the island will give participants a taste of what the competition will be like on Tuesday and Wednesday at Abama Golf, created by world-renowned designer Dave Thomas and considered one of the best golf resorts in Europe by Golf Digest magazine (course and hotel), thanks to its association with Las Terrazas de Abama Suites.

That same Monday evening, the two captains of the competition—two top-level professional players—will announce the pairs for the first day of competition of the Tenerife Golf Cup at a spectacular dinner in one of the most recognizable places on the island, Finca La Calabacera.

Then, on Tuesday, April 29, the competition will begin, and the two teams, made up of 16 players dressed in their team colors and carrying their bags, will compete in a fourball format, trying to score points for their team. This second day will conclude with a grand gala dinner at the Melvin restaurant, located in Plaza Abama, the new hub of the Guía de Isora destination, which will put the finishing touch on this first day of competition.

Finally, on Wednesday, April 30, the second day of competition will conclude with individual play to win the coveted trophy of the II Tenerife Golf Cup.
