The Santander Golf Tour returns to the Real Club de Golf La Peñaza
- The iconic Aragonese course will host the seventh event of the season
- The tournament will take place from 23 to 24 October and will feature 35 players from 12 different countries, including two representatives from Aragon
This morning saw the presentation of the seventh round of the Santander Golf Tour 2025 at the Real Club de Golf La Peñaza, which this week is hosting some of the best golfers on the national and international scene. The women’s professional circuit, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, is stopping off in Zaragoza before tackling the final stretch of the season.
The presentation of the event was attended by Cristina García Torres, Director General of Sports for the Government of Aragon; Fernando Used Bescós, President of the Real Club de Golf La Peñaza; José María Dehesa, President of the Aragonese Golf Federation; Gemma Bonet, Commercial Director of Santander Private Banking in Aragon, Navarre and La Rioja; and Alicia Garrido, Director of the Santander Golf Tour.
Fernando Used Bescós, president of the Real Club de Golf La Peñaza, welcomed all those present and highlighted the club’s role as host: “At La Peñaza we are delighted to welcome the Santander Golf Tour and very proud to once again host an event of this level. The course is in fantastic condition thanks to the work of the team and the members, who always give their all to these events. The club will continue to support women’s sport, which is currently enjoying a magnificent moment, and we are happy to be part of this great family.”
For his part, José María Dehesa, president of the Aragonese Golf Federation, emphasised the importance of Aragon being part of the tour’s calendar: “The Santander Golf Tour is a benchmark in women’s golf and an exceptional showcase for our players. The Federation is proud to see professionals of this calibre competing at La Peñaza, a club that is a true emblem of our sport. These events inspire new generations and consolidate Aragon as a land of golf and committed athletes.”
Gemma Bonet, commercial director of Santander Private Banking in Aragon, Navarre and La Rioja, highlighted the bank’s commitment to women’s sport: “Santander firmly believes in sport as a driver of talent, effort and self-improvement. Celebrating this tenth edition of the circuit is a source of pride, and doing so at La Peñaza, a club with such a long tradition, is particularly exciting for us. Tomorrow’s Pro-Am is a much-anticipated event for our clients, who enjoy the proximity and calibre of the professionals. Thank you to everyone who makes this possible year after year.”
Alicia Garrido, director of the Santander Golf Tour, highlighted the great moment the circuit is experiencing and the importance of this stop in Zaragoza: “We are very happy to return to La Peñaza, a club that always welcomes us with open arms and takes care of every detail. This year we have 35 players from 12 countries, including two from Aragon, who will be competing for the title over the next few days. I would like to thank Banco Santander for its commitment to women’s golf, as well as the Government of Aragon, the Federation and the club for their constant support. I invite all fans to come and enjoy this professional golf spectacle and the talent of the players.”
Finally, Cristina García Torres, Director General of Sports for the Government of Aragon, closed the event by highlighting the value of the tournament for the region: “Aragon is proud to host an event of this level. La Peñaza is a sporting treasure and a national benchmark, and this tournament is an opportunity to showcase our heritage and our organisational capacity. The Government of Aragon will continue to support golf and women’s sport because we believe in its educational, social and economic power. Events like this project the best image of our community.”
The event will feature 35 players from 12 different countries, who will compete for the title at the Real Club de Golf La Peñaza. Tomorrow will see the Pro-Am tournament, where amateurs and professionals will enjoy a unique day of golf, while the winner of the Santander Golf Tour Zaragoza 2025 will be decided on 23rd–24th October.

The Real Club de Golf La Peñaza, located a few kilometres from Zaragoza, is one of the leading golf clubs in Aragon and northern Spain. Its 18-hole course, designed by Fred W. The Santander Golf Tour is Banco Santander’s firm commitment to professional women’s golf, celebrating its tenth season in 2025. With ten tournaments throughout Spain – some of them part of higher circuits such as the LET Access Series (LETAS) – it is supported by Santander Private Banking, Carmignac, Santander Seguros, and the Government of Aragon as sponsors of the event.
