  • The Heathland course will host the last tournament of the year, where the Spanish champion will be decided
  • The country’s best golfers will gather from 19 to 21 November in a privileged location on the Cadiz coast

The Santander Spanish Women’s Professional Championship will be held from 19 to 21 November at the Heathland course at La Hacienda Links Golf Resort in San Roque (Cádiz). It will be the tournament that closes the tenth edition of the Santander Golf Tour and will decide who wins the Spanish championship title in one of the most eagerly awaited events on the national calendar.

The event will bring together the best players in the country in a first-class setting, where the season will come to an end on a circuit that is growing by leaps and bounds. In the 2024 edition, Ana Peláez from Malaga won in a thrilling duel against Nuria Iturrioz from the Balearic Islands, the 2023 champion. Throughout its history, the championship has crowned some of the great figures of Spanish golf, such as Carlota Ciganda (2012), Tania Elósegui (2007, 2009, 2013), Paula Martí (2000) and Luna Sobrón (2018, 2019, 2020), establishing itself as a prestigious platform for national talent.

In addition, the prize money remains at €60,000, a figure that was doubled in 2024 in a decisive commitment by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation to promote professional women’s golf. The winner will receive a cheque for €18,000, in addition to the Spanish championship trophy.

The Heathland course, designed by Dave Thomas, will be responsible for putting the participants to the test. Located in an elevated area of the resort, it offers sweeping views of the sea and the African coastline, with a technical, undulating and wind-exposed layout that makes it a top-level strategic challenge. Combining tradition and innovation, the course is one of the key elements of the transformation that La Hacienda Links Golf Resort has undergone in recent years.

The choice of this resort in Cadiz as the venue for the championship is recognition of its growing international profile and its commitment to excellence. The complex has consolidated its position as one of Europe’s leading destinations thanks to the renovation of its two courses — Heathland and Links — as well as its carefully curated range of services and hospitality. Added to this is the recent addition of the five-star Fairmont La Hacienda hotel, which reinforces the resort’s position as a benchmark for high-end golf tourism.

Javier Jiménez-Casquet, director of La Hacienda Links Golf Resort, expressed his enthusiasm for hosting the event: “We are proud to be the venue for the Santander Spanish Women’s Professional Championship, a tournament that represents the best of national golf and fits in perfectly with the values of our resort. The Heathland course is in magnificent condition and will be a real challenge for the participants. We are convinced that the setting, the level of the players and the atmosphere of the tournament will make this edition unforgettable.”

The championship will arrive in San Roque in the week leading up to the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho, the final event on the Ladies European Tour, ensuring an exciting end to the season with Andalusia as the epicentre of international women’s golf. With spectacular views of the Mediterranean as a backdrop and a challenging course as the setting, La Hacienda Links Golf Resort will be the venue where the new Spanish champion will be crowned.
