Tenerife Women’s Open: a historic event thanks to the support of its sponsors and partners

- Turismo de Tenerife leads a network of supporters that make it possible to hold one of the most important tournaments on the European calendar
Abama Resort Tenerife, the venue for the event, and brands such as Mahou, Solán de Cabras, Greenmowers, Hospiten, Kyocera, Toa Shoes and Volvo complete a key structure for the success of the tournament
The Tenerife Women’s Open 2025, which will be held from 5 to 8 June at the Abama Golf course, will not only be one of the highlights of the Ladies European Tour season, but also an example of institutional and private commitment to sport, quality tourism and the international promotion of the island. The tournament marks the return of an iconic event that was held on the island nine times between 2002 and 2010 under the name Tenerife Ladies Open, and which now regains its place as a showcase for the best European women’s golf in a unique setting.
Turismo de Tenerife is leading this project as the main sponsor and naming sponsor, reflecting its strategic commitment to golf as a driver of tourism promotion. With an enviable climate all year round, first-class hotels and nine top-quality golf courses, Tenerife has established itself as one of the favourite destinations for golfers from all over the world. The hosting of international tournaments such as the Tenerife Women’s Open contributes decisively to reinforcing this image and showing the world everything the island has to offer: nature, gastronomy, culture and sustainability, with Biosphere certification and an innovative Artificial Intelligence Tourism Master Plan, the first of its kind to be approved in Spain, which aims to further improve the competitiveness of the sector and the development of Tenerife as a Smart Tourist Destination.
In this edition, Abama Resort Tenerife will host and serve as the venue for the event, and its role goes beyond strictly sporting matters. Abama Golf, with its spectacular 18-hole course designed by Dave Thomas, will put the continent’s best players to the test, while the resort will showcase its exclusive residential, hotel, gastronomic and wellness offerings. A luxury enclave that will become a global showcase during that week thanks to three hours of live television coverage in 87 countries, with a potential reach of 144 million households.
In addition to institutional backing, the tournament has the essential support of official sponsors such as Mahou and Solán de Cabras, brands historically linked to the sport that contribute to the development of the event both on and off the course. Other companies have also joined in, such as Greenmowers, a leader in golf course maintenance machinery; Hospiten, a healthcare leader with a strong presence on the island; Kyocera, specialising in technological solutions for businesses; Toa Shoes, a technical and sports footwear company; and Volvo, whose commitment to sustainable mobility and high-level sport fits perfectly with the values of the tournament.
Added to this is the collaboration of key institutions such as the Ladies European Tour, the Royal Spanish Golf Federation and the Royal Canary Islands Golf Federation, which guarantee the organisational and sporting quality of the event, together with the promoting company Deporte & Business.
Thanks to these combined efforts, the Tenerife Women’s Open 2025 will once again be a benchmark for European women’s golf and a privileged platform for continuing to promote the image of Tenerife as a tourist destination of excellence.
